Open science to be transformed
The University and National Library of the University of Debrecen (DEENK) also supports the reform of research evaluation in the transformation of open science, i.e. the system and value system of research. To this end, it was said at the seventh Open Science Forum that DEENK supports the dialogue within the institution and plays a change management role.

NeurotechEU: UD delegation visits Stockholm
The fifth Rectors meeting of the European university consortium NeurotechEU, established to enhance cooperation in the field of neuroscience in a broader sense, was held in the Swedish capital. At the NeurotechEU Hackathon competition, introduced as a supplementary event, an international team, which included a researcher from the University of Debrecen, won first prize with their proposed solution to treat mental illnesses in young people.

Pharmacy students from Oradea at the DE
During their five-day visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen, the pharmaceutical students of the University of Oradea ((Nagyvárad) were involved in, among other things, the formulation of nanoparticles and the preparation of biocosmetics. There is an ever closer cooperation between the two institutions.

Forward-looking development in health tourism education
At a dissemination conference and workshop hosted by Egészségtudományi Kar [ETK] Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Debrecen, international experts discussed the results of the HealAll project and health tourism education development in the digital space. The event, which was held at UD’s Innovációs Központ [Innovation Center] also showcased the potential of the e-Twinning innovative teaching method.

CARPE – partnership in scientific research
On May 24-26, 2023, the #CARPE2023 international scientific traveling conference was hosted by Glasgow, Scotland. The University of Debrecen was represented at the conference by a delegation of twenty, led by László Csernoch, vice-rector for science.

Double UD achievement at the Warsaw Medical Congress
A student of the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen achieved an outstanding result in the Polish capital at the international congress of medical students conducting research. Mihály Székely, who is a member of a research group in Debrecen working on the fight against tumors, won in his own section.

Research and development for more efficient oncology care
The University of Debrecen and GE HealthCare have concluded and signed a research and development agreement to support radiotherapy treatment. The Department of Oncoradiology is the first institution in Europe to test the GE HealthCare software that constitutes a system of highly complex radiation therapy procedures. As for now, the application is only used in a testing environment but, once it gets involved in patient care, it will be able to provide more effective oncoradiology treatments.

Erasmus+ BIP events at the University of Debrecen
Guest students from Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Bulgaria came to the first Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Program) course of the University of Debrecen. In addition to interactive language sessions the four-day GloLiteToLead training course included gave awareness-raising presentations given by managers of domestic and international companies, organized by the Faculty of Economics.

Sweeping the board at the National Student Circle Conference (OTDK)
Students of the University of Debrecen (DE) achieved excellent results at the competitions of the 36th National Student Circle Conference (OTDK) held April 3-27. Of the 444 submissions 187 were awarded with a prize or a special award.
